| Client did not file 2006 (1040A) return before he died on April 9, 2007. Daughter (co-adminstrator of estate) has asked me to file tax return.
Do I file a standard 1040 in taxpayer's name, or is there some kine of special filing status needed? Haven't been down this road before. Thank you.

| Yes, no. But read about Form 1310. | |

| 1310 is no longer required for appointed administrators...just attach copy of letters. | |

| Taxpayer's name on return is John Smith (Dec'd 04/09/07)
Second name line is Smiths Daughter, Admin. If there is a balance due, there is probably reasonable cause for late filing. Don't forget to file 2007 return if there was any income and check if earned income credit applies since the income stream was abbreviated.
