Can anyone tell me if room and board paid by a dependent (child) is considered income to the parent?

Cost reimbursements are generally not income. Amounts received that are in excess of costs incurred would be income.

Child wouldn't be dependent though 'cause he/she would be paying more than half his/her support, right??

You would have to complete the worksheet but this would be a potential issue.

Isn't this the child just repaying monies lent to the kid his whole life?
