| Of course everyone here is suffering from raccoon eyes and no social life...but are there any events, etc. that fall right smack in the middle of tax season that you just wish were during any other time? One of the things I most regret is that I never saw cherry blossom season in Japan when I had the chance...and now I might not see it until I'm an old fart (if ever). I also wish Easter were delayed a month. | |

| Valentines Day, best I can do is send my wife and daughter roses\
Also I agree with Easter, this year is nice since I got to enjoy Easter and the Masters. Normally Easter weekend seems to be our last weekend of the season and I am right here at my office right after church.

| No Holidays
Forget Anniversaries No health check ups Forgot Oil Change (100s of miles over) Neglect on Friends (no more weekly calls for Hold Em) A a few more :(

| Instead of delaying Easter a month I think IRS should delay the due date a month... | |

| I am not upset, I am jealous. She gets Monday and Tuesday off. As I just titled another post, here 'The beat goes on, and the hits keep right on coming.' | |

| About the oil changes, picked up a client the other day, No Brand name tire store/ oil change ......my wife always fussed about the 3000 oil chg on her 4 runner ...well i am mechanically minded worked on my gocart when i was young. And you know us accountants we are always trying to stretch a dollar. I have never been so anal about the oil changes if it went 4000 or 5000 ok no big deal but not over 5000. Well I finally convinced my wife after I looked up the Manuf recommendations from Toyota and it was 7500 miles between changes not the 3000 so with the improvements in oil it's still a revenue generator for the Dealers, no skin off the manufacturers. 2 things here ...this client was honest and said if you are doing what you are supposed to then 7500 is ok, why would he when he can make 2 oil changes instead of one. Because he is honest like some of us i read about here. So we change oil within a 5000 to 6000 range and i would check with the auto manuf recommendation and not the Dealer or retailer.
Just my 2 cents | |

| My Acura has an idiot reminder for oil changes and maintenance.
My regrets aren't technically regrets but I'll phrase them as such. I regret that I didn't learn earlier that I can actually keep up with the work load if I spend every Monday and Friday in the office. I regret that I didn't stop taking "out calls" sooner.

| is an "out" call the same thing as a booty call? No time at all for those during tax season. | |

| "are you done yet" ? that's a popular one,
second only to "you must be busy?" or "you don't seem too happy that i'm calling you on April 14th to see if you can still squeeze me in by the 17" lol, :) "actually, i'm thrilled that you called me so late, it makes me very happy!"

| On April 9th, I got an email from a SCorp client, asking if we were still missing anything. I re-sent the previous message I had sent him a couple weeks earlier which asked again for more information that he still hadn't gotten to me. One of the things I asked for was details on checks he had written (I only had account statements with amounts, no payee, no category, nothing). He got back to me with the info on the checks on April 12, and asked when he can come in and finish up. Apparently, I am just sitting here, with his QB file open, waiting for his check info. Not to mention, I have no detail information on any deposits (sales income vs loans from SH (there are 2 SH). So I guess when he comes in, I'm supposed to get that info, finish his books, do the 1120S, and then do the 1040. BTW, the next communication I get from him will probably be a nasty-gram of why his taxes aren't going to be filed on time, like he did last year when he gave me his books in June and wondered why I couldn't get to them right away. | |

| Regrets...that we didn't figure out last year that having me work 60 hours a week at the beginning of March means that I may not have to work a full day tommorow!!! | |

| My anniversary was on March 31st. I don't know WHAT we were thinking when we eloped on that day. (Of course we had no honeymoon afterward)
We'll be taking a trip to the coast at the end of April!!

| Husband planned the wedding in only five weeks because the place where we wanted to get married (150 acres of raw land on the Gulf of Mexico) was about to be sold. | |

| My anniversay AND my two kids were born between April 1 and April 15.
But I don't regret any of that. This was my first year working for myself and I don't regret that either. I will take a much more proactive approach for next year.

| I have a list of tax season reminders that I review once a week from 11/1 to 12/15 then daily from 12/16 to 1/10. Helps me get my mind in the right frame. | |
