| They really were funny.
A good laugh after tax season. I had one client this season (who I've had for years), an occasional security sale each year from a brokerage account - switched brokers this year. He didn't know that brokers can wire transfer shares to each other. He wound up actually selling all the securities in his account, then transferring all cash to the new broker. This caused about $ 95,000 worth of carryover losses. The guy and his wife are both age 62. | |

| Oldies but goodies; funny, Sam, but usually the new broker gets rid of all the stocks the old broker bought and the sales are at the new place, so that you get a 1099B but no costs!! And the client is reluctant to call the jilted broker. I did it for my client once and was met with a hail of expletives about the client. | |
