| is it just my computer? on this site, every time I hit the back button or navigate to another page, it takes forever. | |

| In my experience, the back button results in a very long wait on this site.
It's much faster to go forward, for some reason, then to go back. So if i've opened a discussion and want to return to the index of "Tax Questions" (for example), i'll use the link to "Tax Questions" at the top of the discussion, or the link on the left sidebar.

| I think that when you go back, there are people trying to go forward and so we bump into them.
just my thought. | |

| There's a big difference between time of day. About midnight - 1 a.m. Hawaii time, the site is fast. Otherwise it is slower, particularly the tax questions forum. I hadn't really noticed whether there's also a difference between going back or forward. | |

| Fred - you are a hoot!
I think TA's servers are just bogged down and overloaded - kind of like the rest of us this time of year.

| Fred's the best. That's why he should be Prez.
Wwtaxes, you are on target. I suspect that's the cause. All the people coming here (escpecially DIY'ers, registering with no profile, looking for an answer to their one specific question, checking back every 5 seconds, asking again 10 minutes later, checking 30 seconds later, asking 10 seconds after they don't get a response after that, screaming at us if we are ever going to answer 15 seconds after that, checking back 10 seconds after that for answer, yelling at us again for an answer, finally being told to fill out a darn profile after skipping that part when they were told when asking their question in the first place to do so. Multiply that by how many people are coming here and you get the picture.
Hourly Rate you are paid at your job: $50.00 Maalox MAX, Maximum Strength, Antacid & Antigas, Chewable Tablets, Assorted Fruit $8.49 Being ignored by Tax pros at TaxAlmanac because you were too lazy to read the directions we posted and asked you to read just before you posted your question and because you were too cheap to pay a professional to do your taxes when you could have afforded one: PRICELESS

| Saturday EDT 8-9am: are Intuit's servers totally down; this site would not open, now is opening glacially slow, and I cannot establish a connection to either do automatic updates to Proseries or receive efile acknowledgments? This makes me wonder if their servers are down because I can connect to my favorite porn sites ( Of course Fred is right; even trying the button at the top of the page can take time if others are posting and during this time of year that is happening. I bet this post takes 2-3 minutes to appear. | |

| I think it's a Philly thing DT. Probably all those coppers found another preparer and they are flooding the Philly internet superhighway with filings to beat the investigation expansion.
I just did a test efile and no problems, then went to nekkedtaxalmanacers.com and had no problem watching the videos of our lovely contributors here. I just hope I never see Tom wearing that outfit ever again. I know he has issues in the kitchen, but dang, leave the utensils home man. Is it tequila time yet?

| I think Derek just got a cabinet appointment.
Of course being from Louisiana, it's always tequila time. Loved N'awlins when I went on 2001. Anyplace they give you a to go cup for your beer is a place to be cherished.

| Fred - <lob time> - what other positions are available in your cabinet?
One of my computer guru's from years ago explained why I periodically need to reboot my computers "sometimes the info going back/forth in the cable (obviously not wireless at the time) starts running into each other, need to clear the roadblock" Made sense at the time, even without tequila. And I'm being blocked from the neddedtaxalmnacers.com website.....any idea why? what have I done wrong. <eg>

| What positions would you <refraining here> want to hold?
Everything is negotiable. But naturally, you ladies will have <again refraining> positions of eminence within the empire, errr, I mean cabinet.

| D&T the site was up when I went to bed about 7:30 EDT.
Fred, you're too much! | |
