A Single Owner LLC can file an LLC Partnership return on a 1040 Sch. C. So, if an extension has to be filed for the LLC partnership return should it be filed on Form 4868 (for 1040s) or on Form 7004 (for 1065 LLCs)? Appreciate your advice.

4868 if the SM is a real person

a SMLLC can only file a 1065 if it's sole member is a partnership or LLC taxed as a partnership

You're not filing an LLC return. You're just reporting the LLC activity on Sch C of Form 1040. So file the 1040 extension.
