My husband and wife clients have a two member LLC that elected s-corp status several years ago. The wife has just recently died, leaving husband as sole, single member of the llc. Since s-corp status is already in place for the two member llc, do I need to file any paperwork with the IRS to continue s-corp status for the now single member llc?

Nothing would be needed for the IRS. Your state may require updated information.

and you're sure that the husband inherited the wife's share? He could be in business with the young tennis pro now.

Be sure to continue treating it as an Scorp, and not a single member LLC disregarded entity.
