| I've done the research and I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I'd sure like some reassurance. Client reaches 70 1/2 in 2009. Since the RMD has been waived for 2009, I believe she doesn't have to take it until 2010 and only has to take one RMD in 2010. Thanks. | |

| My RIA research agrees. The RMD for 2009 is waived and could have been taken as late as 4-1-2010 under the prior rule.
Now your client only has to take one RMD by 12-31-2010 based on asset values as of 12-31-2009. | |

| There has been no announcement of a waiver for year 2010 .INMHO very unlikely because of the big deficets anticipated . | |
