| Hello,
Hopefully someone here can help me out with this. I am doing financial statments for a corporation that is doing business under a different name (Doing Business As). Can someone please tell me the proper heading for a DBA?
? Does anyone know the proper heading under GAAP?

| You say it is a corporation, but in your examples you use an LLC.
If most people know the company under the dba name, I would include it. xxxx, Inc. dba xxxx

| First, I admire you coming here and asking the question. That shows to me your interest in educating yourself which is more than I can say for many. However, you are not a CPA per your bio. I might want to caution you about doing financial statements. Please check California regulations regarding unlicensed practitioners doing financial statements. This is in your best interest. I am not saying this as someone who is a licensed CPA trying to protect territory as I am on the other coast. You need to be very careful with respect to this issue. There are many CA practitioners here who might be able to guide you. Please be sure you know what you are getting into before you go any further.

| Is there a Generally Accepted Accounting Principal on this. I am not a CPA but occasionally do work for a few and recently had a discussion about whether or not to include the DBA. | |
