I use the tax line mapping function in QB and import thru

Proseris Professional. Worked great last 2 weeks and today the processs figures don't come into the return. anyone know of a preference featurn in QB or Proseries that would have been turned off in error to create this issue

I'm having some queer problems with ProSeries today too - everytime I exit a tax return the program shuts down ... may be some bugs in the lastest update??

MD,

Check your computer. It may be time for an upgrade. If you have too many programs open, Proseries tends to slowdown or shut off completely.

Alpha, QB should flow through Proseries correctly and update only if you tell it to with any new numbers for the company.

Just curious, Alpha, is this your first year importing from QB to PS? I ask this because I quit doing this 2 years ago mostly because of the redundancy coming into PS. I've found it much easier and much quicker and cleaner to simply print out a trial balance and input the figures manually. If not your first year, has the export/import improved this year over prior years?

Thanks cpa1...actually we just did memory upgrades on all the computers to accomodate ProSeries - I'm working with 2G now instead of 512MB...machine works must faster.

Bottom Line (talk|edits) said:

I've never done this. Two reasons. One-The time involved to set up each client is a lot more than the time to key in the financials. Two-Rekeying the numbers allows me to review the company financials and tax return; if I just allowed the flow through, I'd be tempted to just print the return without reviewing it (yes-personal character issue).

I used this feature last year and it worked quite well.

It was working this year however, there seems to be a problem

Once the lines are mapped properly, it saves much time on the return prep.
