| I have a client who filed his Federal return but turned tail when filing multiple State tax returns. Is there a trick in ProSeries Basic to file only the States? Anyway, even if only the States are to be filed, I will still have to do the Federal anyway.....

| I don't know about PS Basic, but in the PS Pro you can file a stae directly to the state ... unless it is a state that does not do it that way. I file Wisconsin ONLY return all the time.

| can't you just check the appropriate boxes on the info wks page? Don't check the file federal and do check the file state.

| I assume that Basic would have the same e-file features as Pro!

| It depends on the state. Some states only allow efile when piggybacked with a federal. I know PA is like that.

| I have filed PA returns directly without Federal in cases where either it is a child, or someone who needs a Federal extension to fund the SEP. First check both Federal and State and then uncheck the Federal.
