| Charitable donations were not included in a 2006 filing - can they be included in the 2007 filing? | |

| No they can not. I'm afraid you're out of luck on this one.
If only there was a form that lets you change, nay, AMEND, last year's return. However, I fear that day will never come. | |

| Just amend 2006 return....... | |

| But did the charitable contributions make a difference in the taxes vs what your fee for amending is? Are there any carryforwards of disallowed contributions? I don't amend unless to do so will benefit the tp.... | |

| Isn't it funny how successors always find reason to disclose fault in their predecessors work? Are you the subsequent accountant? | |

| Could be the tp didn't provide the info to the preparer, wait, forgive me ...that never happens... ahhmeeend (say it like an ohm in yoga or a chanting monk) | |

| I bet that a subsequent accountant in Feb 2009 will criticize the drop in contributions from 2006 to 2007 and try to drum up 1040x filings, forgetting the new substantiation rules. Remember how dependents dropped off returns when SS numbers were required? | |

| PostingFromWork , There is a form called "1040X" which can be used to change a prior year return after it was filed with the IRS. | |
