What type of software or program do you use for calculating payroll checks for your clients? I have recently started a bookkeeping/tax business and have been calculating payroll checks manually with the tax tables for my few clients that I have. I am anticipating (hoping & praying) that I can increase my client base and may eventually have clients that fax me gross payroll amounts and I calculate their paychecks. I need an inexpensive way to quickly calculate paychecks.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I use Winfiler Plus. The first year is a little pricier, but I save about 20% each year with early renewals. You can set up unlimited clients.

Medlin payroll software. Download a free, fully functional trial version that does not expire at medlin.com. I've used it for about 6 years and have never found a need for anything else. I've recommended it to about 35 client companies. None of these companies that has ever used it has ever switched to anything else. The price is $50 per year. It's full functional without paying, but printouts will have "banners" printed on them. The $50 cost will cover as many companies as you want. It produces paychecks, a full range of payroll reports, plus 941s, 940s, W2s, and W3s. It's got a few limitations but none that disqualify it in my book. Try it soon so that you, if you like it, you can enter the payroll data so far for 2009 without alot of data entry. If you search on here for "Medlin" you'll find additional information.

I've been using PayWindow from Zpay.com. Works for me.
