| WE ARE INTO TAX SEASON A COUPLE OF WEEKS NOW, AND DON'T YOU FIND THAT
ALL PRO SERIES TAX FORMS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR EF FILING AT THIS POINT. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM IN THE PAST 5 OR 6 YEARS WITH THE PROGRAM.

| Don't blame Intuit. It's the gov that's the problem. The last minute bill changed a lot of things which have held off final forms. The IRS couldn't even process many of them until last Sat.! The Production Credit form is the only one I've got still hanging out there...and I don't understand the problem with that one. It is what it is, tho'. | |

| Don't you have any energy credits yet, JR? My stack is growing every day, plus some 2210s, 4136s, and 8606s. I don't know if the delay for these forms is the fault of the IRS. | |

| Oh, yes, one energy credit...wait, that efiled and was accepted already! No 8606's yets... | |

| You efiled a Form 5695 and it was accepted? Are you sure? I'm holding about ten of them, because the two I've efiled were rejected. I've read that the form isn't really final yet in ProSeries Pro (even though it says it's final and ready to EF) and won't be until either the 10th or the 22nd (two sources stating different dates). It seems like Tim even said there was a problem in the program with this form, and there's a page at the Intuit site that says Form 5695 won't be accepted until either the 10th or 22nd. | |

| Here's the page at Intuit, regarding Form 5695:
Error Reject Code 151 or 156 and Form 5695 I think the other source that says 02/21 or 02/22 was in the rejection note that I received after I accidentally efiled the 2nd return with Form 5695.

| Yes, Deb, confirming that I have an accepted efiling with a 5695. Just doublechecked to make sure. efiled night before last and accepted yesterday. | |

| I have been sending just the Federal by itself, then I come back and send the State and it works fine. Intuit posted how to get a 5695 return to go through on its reject information. I tried it last week and it works (though its a hassle). | |

| I too have efiled w/ Form 5695, no problem. However I don't believe some of the problems w/ forms not be accepted is Congress's fault. For example, Form 4136 is not a new form and Congress did not make any specific changes effecting this credit, so why will it not be accepted until the 10th or 22nd? | |

| Deb:
Although I am still checking, I would be surprised if a defect that causing EF rejects like I referred to in the ProSeries program wasn't corrected within a few days. Also, it's possible that support notice on the web simply hasn't been updated.

| Last Saturday, my 2nd 5695 was rejected. I'm going to send about 7 or 8 of them this morning, when I get downstairs, and will find out what happens later today.

| Just got back rejections on all of the 5695s efiled this morning, except one that was accepted without efiling the State. I will efile the Federal and State separately, and I'm almost sure that will work. The date this is expected to be fixed in the software is 02/21, according to the text in the rejection acknowledgment file. | |

| Actually, the 4136 was changed because of the extender bill:
The IRS pulled the final form and added Line 9a and 9b.

| Hmmm. I filed my state with this guy's as well. IL. Now, what about the 8606's? Just got my first one of those, and wondering the status for efiling...? | |

| I just learned about a pretty interesting resource which you might find useful. Take a look at the Lacerte EF Atlas. Although some of the contents are Lacerte-specific, it also has generic information on the EF process, forms availability, etc.

| JR -
Do the error-checking in the file with the 8606 to see if it says you can't efile it yet. I am still unable to efile 8606, 2210, and 4136, in addition to 5695 when efiled with the state return. The update list for ProSeries Pro says that 8606 will be available to efile on 02/10. I haven't received any ackfiles back yet for the separate 5695s I efiled earlier this afternoon. I wonder why you were able to efile 5695 and I can't?????

| I've filed a couple 5695s along with MN.....no problems, both were accepted. | |

| I wish someone would tell me exactly why I'm unable to efile Form 5695 with the Michigan return and why others are not having this problem. The error code is 0151, and this error code is not listed on the Lacerte page of error codes that Tim listed above. I'm getting at least one or two energy credits every day, so this is getting very frustrating.
Solution: This problem may occur if Form 5695 is part of the return. This problem will be fixed in an update expected to be available February 21, 2007. To fix this problem, file the federal return separately from the state return. This is allowed for all states except Hawaii and Oklahoma. The states of North Dakota and South Carolina only let you file your state return separately from your federal return once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS.

| All of my Federal returns with 5695s were accepted tonight, after I efiled the Federal and Michigan returns separately. Dang! I should have just followed Intuit's instructions the other day (to file the returns separately). | |
