| For overseas taxpayers, we can send in a special letter to the IRS to request a discretionary 2-month additional extension to December 15. http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/article/0,,id=154856,00.html
Now that there is no Form IT-372, do you know how we can get an additional 2-month extension to Dec 15 for NY purpose? I am thinking of sending a copy of that IRS extension letter to NY State Department of Taxation and Finance to get the same for NY tax purpose? Do you agree? If not, any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

| Go to www.nystax.gov website.
Use the search & read TSB-M-05(7) - it says there is no provision in NYS tax law to grant any more than 6 months.
