We've just launched some added functionality to the discussion forums. I'll be slowly adding additional items to the forum listing, and would be interested in your feedback. First to be added: A column showing who created the discussion.

Please let me know, via my talk page or by email to taxalmanac@intuit.com, if you notice anything out of the ordinary in the next day or two as we test out these new features.

I have now implemented the following:

All columns on the Discussion Forum Index can now be sorted in both directions
Edits to topics using the edit this page tab (as opposed to standard replies using the form at the bottom of the pages) will not affect the display order on the forum index. This will allow people to categorize older discussions without pushing current discussions off of the index.

Regarding the elephants... I'm not sure I can do the actual elephants. There was a comment about adding a "sticky" item (the yellow topics at the top of the list. I can certainly do that if someone wants to create the page first. Isn't this what we did with the page that comes up when you attempt to ask a question though?
