Hi,

My client is a sole proprietorship evangelical band that performs at church events. He is an independent contractor paid with 1099 income by the churches. His wife is part of an organization called NASE (National Association for the Self-Employed) and is on his payroll at $100 per month.

I can't find much information (I saw some older discussions on Taxalmanac but no definitives) on this plan. Supposedly, the healthcare expenses for the employee are deductible and I saw a little information that the healthcare insurance premiums are as well.

Can someone point me to a good resource or explain exactly how this plan works?

Thanks, Michael
