| I just got a call from a client who'd been out of town for a while. When they picked up their mail they found the reciepts for certified mail (client says one is labaled "final notice") from the IRS Ogden Center in their PO Box, but not the letters they were attached to.
Any ideas on how to figure out what they were for? Client is calling the post office to see if they can track down the mail, and I plan on calling the practitioner priorty line in the morning.

| Notices of Deficiency always come registered or certified. Get a POA, and call the Ogden underreporter unit..800-829-8310. | |

| Thanks Joan. I was afraid it was something like that.
BTW, I was filing out the Disclosure Authorization for E-Services, but I got stymied when it asks for the taxpayer's AGI or birth date for the signature. It's a partnership. It doesn't have an AGI or birthdate. Is that information supposed to be that of the tax matters person? | |

| Your client is panicking prematurely. Unless the return date on the final notice has passed, the post office is holding the certified mail for delivery. They just need to go pick it up. | |

| RE: the DA problem I was having. The information needed for the signature is that of the person signing the return. The E-Services help desk has the BEST customer service I have ever gotten anywhere! | |
