Looking to see if anyone has an referrals for someone familiar with Mexican tax laws. I have a US based company that will be doing a little bit of business there in the near future and need to find out what needs to be done by them to be in compliance with mexican tax laws.

Thanks in advance

David

I have always had good lucking sending matters like this to Block's subsidiary down there: H&R Bloque.

For Canadian clients, I use the Royal Canadian Mounted Tax Preparers. They deliver.

Is not Bloque the equivalent of the French Canadian taxes? hehehe

There are good accounting firms in Mexico so I suggest you consult with one of them.

The two or three times I have deal with cross border companies, they have always used an accounting firm in Mexico to do that side of the taxes.

Let me know if you have no luck. I can look back in some old files.

Had a client work there 5 or 6 years ago. Had a law firm there help getting the permits etc and they also took care of the taxes. I do remember that security was a very big deal on the job site, and was very expensive, eventhough the job was within a secured area.

Here is a link to some minimal information. Hope it helps some.

Mexico has Social Security taxes paid mostly by employees, part by employers. This also finances hospitals. Employees are also entitled to paid vacations and holiday bonuses.
