Just wanted to check to see if there was any form requested by the IRS if two companies want to merge? I know the accounting gets sort of crazy, but wasn't sure if the IRS had to be notified. Thanks for the input. skq

Sorry, hit return too soon. Reg 1.368-3 lists what should be filed with the return. Assuming the merger qualifies as nontaxable.

At this point, I don't know if the merger would or would not be taxable. He hasn't decided what he is buying yet, but it is in the home health care industry.
