Kevin, I freely admit I did not search the files for this one.

I just want to give a very big thank you to all the Almanacers who have participated in this year's tax season, and to Tim Doyle for having this available to us. It has been a huge boost to a successful tax season for me in particular and everyone who uses it, in general. Many of us are sole practitioners, many of us are starting our careers, and the rest of us just need a place to go to ask a question or get clarification on a thought process. In years past, questions have come up and even with all the research that is available, the logical answer was not apparent or we have concerns about our interpretation of what is being read with no place to safely obtain answers or support (I mean who wants their client or boss to know we are uncertain, unclear or just plain don't have the answer). Tax Almanac offers a place to gain assistance, answers, reassurance and support from others in our field who are willing to share their experience and professional insight. So Kevin, Bengoshi, Natalie, Woodstock, PVV, GLMPC, Riley, Tim, Deb, D&T, and everyone else who have patiently or impatiently read through posts and offered help - as this hectic part of the season closes, give yourselves a pat on the back and accept a huge thank you from me, and a collective one from everyone else. I really can't say how much I appreciate all of you.

Action, all I want to know is whether the earnest money deposit was lost or not. LOL

I didn't get my check either!  :(

That's ok, it'll save me time not answering her questions anymore. I, too, am grateful for this site. Makes it seem less lonely.

Kevin, we'll have to wait till next year now to find out about the earnest money.

My many thanks to all the gems on this site, very informative and quite humorous, esp. some of the april fool questions, there were many times I could not wait to see/read Kevin's replies

I would like to thank Lacerte for putting a button on their button bar. Otherwise, I never would have stumbled onto this place. This forum provided me with some excellent information, but more importantly it was a great place to let off some steam and to get a really good laugh.

Notables:

  • I would like to thank JR for always reminding me to remember what is important.
  • I would like to thank Kevin for the midnight rambling about girl scout cookies and punch and many other comical reliefs (is that a word?).
  • I would like to thank JAD "Dungeon" & Glmpllc "Gastric" for answering just about all of my questions.
  • I would like to thank D&T for his morning column. Always a great read.
  • I would like to thank Riley for well, you know, for being Riley.

Other honorable mentions: Thank you's to WillyB, AHH, Michaelstar, Actionbsns, RSR, Dennis, Acctax, Taxea, Sandysea, Deback, Laticiaw, Taocpa, TexCPA, Wwtaxes, Bengoshi, FLAEA, Woodstock, Bottom Line, and others that provided good questions, stupid questions, good answers, and worthless answers.

And I can't forget to thank Gosix for blaming all the world's problems on CPA's, and the fire-fighter lady that I really pissed off.

It is now time to have a drink and get reacquainted with my wife. See you on the other side.

Hi Everyone,

I also wanted to thank you all. This was my first tax season on my own after being in a firm for 19 years. I was worried when it came to research. I missed not having anyone to bounce ideas off. But this place is just as good. :-)I am so glad I found this site. It has been a great help! I hope you all have a couple days to rest. Sunday after church, I'm off to Tahoe with a friend who helped with the processing and admin work. We'll talk shop the whole time. (ha)

It's nearly 10 pm here - still have to efile.

Can't believe we got as much done as we did; even harder to believe how much is left.

Thanks a ton for all the input, helpful and otherwise! I learned a bunch, and hope I helped out a little too, even if it was just to post previous discussion links.

Have a good break; talk to you soon; I'm outta here for awhile.

I am so appreciative of this site too! Tim does an outstanding job. I found so many of my questions were answered by performing a search which was just great because the real gurus did not have to spend time answering questions that they have already answered in so many different ways through various discussions.

Thanks to those of you who helped me and I hope that I was able to help out others too! Cheers!

PVV,

Thanks for the honorable mention, I think! I am not as dumb as my questions might seem or at least that's what my wife says. I try to spend a lot of time doing my own research, but sometimes I outthink myself and start a lot of second-guessing.

I appreciate all who answered questions and the trading of ideas. Kevin, you made a suggestion I implemented and I found it useful. Thanks much.

JR1, thanks for the friendly and kind words. I also appreciate all who let me vent my struggles. It was great to have feedback and I hope I can be of help to all of you someday.

To quote an Irish proverb my grandfather had hanging on his wall:

May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine upon your face, and may you be in heaven a half an hour before the devil knows your dead.

Thanks all. See you soon.

Here, here!! I totally agree with y'all!! Tim runs a fantastic site!! It was such a great season knowing everyone was here to help with whatever questions/problems I encountered!! Look at the time,,should we have a count-down??? I think I'm going thru withdrawal....I WAS actually in bed, and just couldn't sleep....maybe by Friday I'll get into another routine, but I know I'll be checking in with my 'new' friends!!

Bless you all with a healthy, happy AFTER SEASON!!

I agree with all of the kudos. I appreciate all of the ideas/info from everyone. So often I second guess myself and think "that's really a dumb question...I should know the answer to that". I appreciate having a forum to ask those "dumb" questions without being judged for what I don't know (or think I don't know). and it's also refreshing to find that maybe it's not such a dumb question after all. It's nice to be able to get other opinions and I hope that I'll be able to give some good answers to others in the future as well. Have a great rest of the year everyone!!!
