| I have a 80 yr. old widow, not related to me. She is being audited by the IRS, Ga. Dept. of Revenue, Board of Alderman of Winston Ga, AND the Garden Club where she is treasurer. Long story, but after hearing of our glorious military victories in Afganistan chasing Bin Laden, she decided to put in a Poppy Crop out in the back 40 in Winston. I can tell you those poppies smoke good, like morphine should. Anyway... she already owes the Feds. 200k in back taxes, will they offset her stimulus pmt to pay back taxes? We put in reservations for a trip to Vegas on 4-1, and I sho would like to get out of town around the end of the month. By the way, her neighbor there in Winston? Wesley, last name, Snipes. Thanks. | |

| See mu post on the Snipes Syndrome: she should have changed her name to something like Olga Growsyourownya and then maybe they'd back off. | |

| Frank Baum must be delighted. Here we are some X years after he died with the same issues they had in Oz. A yellow brick (gold) road, leading past fields of poppies (foreign wars), and ending in the green (money) colored City of OZ, where there really is nothing standing behind our money except Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernake hiding behind a curtain.
Seriously though, if you file an installment agreement for a client who cannot pay in full, is the stimulus payment routed to the good old IRS, or is IRS merely a payment facility for the largesse? | |

| IRS will withhold stimulus payments if they or any of the 50 states are owed tax monies. | |

| Well, they will recoup some of their mailing costs, at least. | |
