| What a shame. Even tho' I'm a die hard Yankees fan, but always a baseball fan, I enjoyed a couple of weeks ago watching him and other 1969 Mets celebrate their 40th ann'y of their unlikely world series victory. Brought me back to '69 when I watched them celebrate with a parade up Sixth Avenue. Oh well. | |

| Tax evasion is still tax evasion and against the law, no matter who does it!
We're Mets fans and believe if you break the law, you have to pay the price. Jerry Koosman is headed for the clink!

| Well, maybe they still play baseball in prison, but it's gotten so un-American, they may play soccer now. | |

| It's not like the Yankees play REAL baseball, what with the DH rule and all... | |

| So Norm, does that mean you are a Mets fan - or just a National League purist? | |

| I am a lifelong diehard Met fan who was in 3rd grade when the Mets won it all in 1969. I love Koos no matter what. The lesson learned is don't fall for that crap they preach on Fox. | |

| I am a real eccentric. I follow (and attend) the El Paso Diablos, an Independent (minor) League team. Too bad; they USED to be the AA farm for the AZ Diamondbacks. My wife got to see The Big Unit pitch as a perfectly good Diablo and we've seen a few others on their way up (or down).
When in Denver, we root for the Rockies. For the most part.

| That must have been a while ago - the current Diamondback farm team is in Reno (the Aces) and they just arrived this season (from...Phoenix? Can't remember but I don't think it was El Paso). The games are a kick to attend.
I can watch any baseball game - if it's good baseball. Except the Yankees - don't like Steinbrenner

| Irony here is that while ending his career with the Phils, Koos gave up serial tax evader Charley Hustle's 4000th hit. You know Charley, also known as Mr. Ego.
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0818043rose1.html As that title puts it, the hits just keep right on coming.

| The U.S assistant attorney said in the article:
"If you flub the tax laws and if you willfully fail to file taxes, it comes with a price." That price can be good ... Secretary of The Treasury. taxbilly
