| Irs is auditing a client '04 C corp return of my client. Last year irs audited the same clients '03 tax return with the results being no changes.
As part of there document request, the IRS is requesting copies of the prior and subsequent years tax returns. Can we refuse to provide these tax returns because these are not part of the year being audited. The prior year was already audited with no change and the following year is not the year being audited. | |

| better yet would be to get out of the audit altogether under the "repitious audit" rules. (although I don't remember if there is an exception for C corps - seems like they are a taxpayer too) | |
