| Has anyone else experienced garbled music on internet radio lately? I listen to the radio all of the time while I work. The last few days the music gets garbled after half an hour or so. I did a little research and saw some information about downloaded music files intentionally garbled so that people will pay the required fees, but this is supposed to be the free radio. It's a pain in the butt having to change the station do frequently. | |

| Well, now I know they're coming to get me because this discussion moved to the tax forum all by itself. | |

| The Federal Reserve uses the same channel for emergency communications. There have been an unusual number of emergency and secret messages sent recently (one recently deciphered went: "GET beep beep OUT beep beep OF beep bee DODGE"). Be lucky you still have an internet, and a radio. | |

| Okay, guys, I'm serious about this. I know my computer is old, but I don't want to replace it just yet.

| Your speakers are shot. I'm serious, get new speakers, as they get older, they pick up stray signals. AND it was the Federal Reserve also. | |

| Natalie, The intentionally corrupt music files you are refering to are MP3 and other audio format files that you download for play later, not internet radio... That could be a number of things.. If a CD plays fine in your computer then it is not the speakers. Might just be a bad day for internet radio's website host. | |

| Natalie, any recommendations for good stations? I actually like the BBC world service, and some of the public radio channels, but I'm always up for something different. | |

| I really liked the classic rock on 977, but they just reformatted it, and now it's full of commercials. Since I've had this problem with the sound, I've been switching around on the stations that are available on classichitsradio.com. | |

| pandora.com guys and gals. it is awesome. it has every genre and it learns what you like. there key line is the music genome project.
i have a radio station set up that i control the genres. it has blues, classic rock, rock a billy, country, metallica vs godsmack <my fave> etc. You then give thumbs up or thumbs down and if up, it plays similar music. Pandora.com and i do not mind shilling for this place. | |

| Well, so far I like Pandora.com. Hopefully the crackles are gone. | |

| I'm hooked on Pandora, and now they need to start assessing fees (for those who listen over 40 hours per month) to cover royalty payments. Bummer. | |

| I listen to WTAX when working OR my close second is WCPA. | |

| Matt, that is WBAD and Nat's, I thought they signed the new royalties deal and that should have eliminated it. | |
| July 9, 2009 | |
| Yeah, there was a new deal, but apparently they didn't get everything they were asking for. I may go up to my 40 hours for the month and then switch to ITunes. | |

| Natalie, the Pandora deal doesn't sound too bad. No subscription, then, if you go over the 40 hours, they charge your credit card 99 cents. I can live with that. I actually might just go and buy the annual subscription for $36. No ads, or browser needed. | |

| You're right, it's not too bad. Just another thing that takes time to take care of. | |

| Yes, you are Freddy. I'm working on a shrine for my office. Would you send me a picture and a couple of things from Freddy's World? | |
| November 1, 2009 | |
| Freddy, I'm still waiting for the pictures. Maybe that's why Pandora is now switching songs faster than I can figure out what the song is. Has anyone else been having that problem? I just get into a song, and all of a sudden it stops and a new one starts. | |
