and I received the following..."No articles contain your search terms."

I wanted to send a short note to all of those of you out there in Almanac land who spend her/his time here helping others. I am not sure what the price would be if a dollar figure could be placed on this service (okay, don't get any ideas) but it would very likely be more than many of us would want to spend.

There are great personalities here, years of wisdom represented, and true professionals and I really appreciate the time and effort you all take.

I said once, some time ago I think in a reply post to Kevin...my #1 goal here is to one day contribute more than I take.

Thanks again to you all for helping me get through yet another tax season. Only my 14th (I only wish I had the knowledge to show for it. But then, I wouldn't need you).

Happy 15th.

94nole-looked at your profile. My son is a 1988 FSU grad, still works for a Tallahassee company(tho lives in Tn), in fact talked to him from Tallahassee about an hour ago.

Even though I am a "senior", I still find this and other boards very helpful and a great way to keep up with current developments and I enjoy seeing the unique cases that come up. I have a pretty good file of information and references that I have printed off, and they really come in helpful at times.

Although I have been in business a long time, I was out of public accounting for several years and it did take a while to get back up to speed. Keep reading!!!

I'll grab the 'great personalities' column and say, thanks for the thanks. It means more than the cash. I'd still bill you, but since that's been declared off limits. Years of wisdom and True professionals remaining, get 'em while you can.

I'd like to say thank you as well. I've been at this quite awhile myself, but am always looking for confirmation on the treatment of various transactions. I can't imagine ever knowing all there is to know about tax law, and sometimes I'm very intimidated by the lack of knowledge I feel I have compared to others who participate on this board. So I appreciate all of the help you have all given over the past months, even with the seemedly basic questions. Sometimes it's good just to run something past someone else to get a second opinion. So, that being said, enjoy the next 8 months of the year, and let's do it all again next year!!!

I've said it before and will say it again this year - Mahalo, nui loa to all who have helped and offered critiques and comments, almost all of them have been constructive and helpful. I just keep learning more and more and become more and more confident. All of you who offer your time, talent and expertise are so thoroughly appreciated.

Thank you to all who helped me again and again. This forum was the reason that I wanted to try on my own and that I believe I can do it! THANKS!

I whole heartedly concur. Thank you to all that have graciously shared their knowledge and wisdom. Having this forum to do research on and to ask for help and/or guidance has been a great source of information. There is no way to retain all of the information and as my business grows so do the "curve balls". Thanks to all again for your support and humor.

You guys are alright for a bunch of accountants, haha! Seriously I hope I learn as much this year as I have being on here for a year or so, way better than my college degree, EA studies (well Arthur Reed is pretty close) or CPA exam studies which I am happy to say never again. Thanks to everyone for sharing their insight and knowledge with us people with less than 20 years experience, one day I'll be sharing more knowledge than I ask for too.

Why is it that with all of these "thank you" comments, not one comes up in a search? (Where's Kevin? He needs to check this out.) It must mean we need more of them, so thank you to everyone who has helped me as well.

THANK YOU INDEED !!! April 15th was made much more bearable with the incredible contributions, both serious and lighthearted, that allowed me to make it through the season. To echo both 94nole and Nancy, I look forward to the day I am able to offer more than I take. Many thanks and best wishes to everyone at TA.

Thank you to all from me as well.

I find this site is a wonderful source of info, as well as a much needed source of laughter at times.

I searched and found an old umbrella, a rain coat and some oysters someone forgot to take home with them.

I also found a neat home away from home where I can find answers, read, laugh, raise my blood pressure and smirk. thanx to everyone for making this a special place.

Nancy: that actually happened. In 1973 using the Eurailpass to go from Paris to Amsterdam, I sat in a first class seat with a friend I met and a man carrying some wares. He got off somewhere in Belgium but left this white paper bag. When the Dutch conductor entered as we reached Holland, he asked us if the bag was ours. We had never noticed since he kept to himself. We nodded negatively, so he picked it up, and inside were fresh oysters.

I've been waiting to have a chance to ply that little mot.

Thank you all for sharing your information and insight. I may not contribute much but I always review this site and use it as a double check on my "take" on things. Happy End of Tax Season!!

Do a search after reading this and you still won't see any results. Not sure why all these thank yous are not showing up. I decided about a year or so ago that I was going to end virtually every email I send and every discussion I start, respond to, participate in here would end in Thank You. I don't always remember, but can go back to "my contributions" and find where most of mine do. I just want others to know how grateful I am for the help I've found here. Thank you. P.S. Try to imagine responding to your worst client's email and hard as can be ending it with thank you. I think it's called, 'turning the other cheek'. Tough, tough, tough. Thank you.

If you want to search, type in "Mahalo nui loa" the thread I started at the end of last season pops up. Actually, when I typed in thank you, there was a second direct as well. Anyway, I'm glad to be in such great company.

I woke up this morning at 6:00 and made myself stay in bed till 7:00 and "relax" then my mind started drifting to the stuff on my desk. After the nightmare at the airport this week, I don't really want to get on another airplaine for awhile. So I think we will work on the extensions for about a month and then take a few days off and go to Kauai. Last year we went on vacation to Hawaii. How do you do that when you live in Hawaii? We stayed at a little resort north of us about two miles and didn't do anything on our side of the resort. The rule was that we could only go north, that was vacation land and south of it by even a few yards was home and running errands not vacationing.

I wanted to say thank you as well. Not been here much this year....but that means I had less time...hehehe

So....for all of you out there....thanks and now that several extensions are looming, quarterlies due and other bookkeeping, filing, and catch up work is to be done it sure is nice to know that you are here when and if the need arises.

Glad to see that all of you made it!!

Action - good to see you post; you & your situation has been on my mind. Hope you're doing OK.

And I need to add my heartfelt thanks also, to all of the ones above. I've said before that I wish I could get CPE for all I've learned this year from TA

I've learned a lot, I hope I have contributed a little, I've received TONS of reinforcement that I do kinda/sorta have a clue about tax prep, I've learned to search (thanks Kevin), and I feel I've made a few friends along the way. I've also learned this profession isn't just populated with boring stereotypical accountant types :-)

Yes, thank you to all who take time to give guidance and advice!

It is comforting to know we have somewhere to go when our own research only leads to more questions.

Indeed, THANK YOU to all for saving me from looking dumb in front of a client, and for imparting wisdom, great stories, and fantastic one-liners, 2-liners, 3-liners, etc.

Reading your comments helps to un-frustrate me after dealing with frustrating clients. And it's always nice to know i'm not alone in the proverbial boat.
