That limit only applies to a levy on social security benefits.

There is much more to it than that. The 15% applies to the Federal Payment Levy Program.

One other point about the levy on Social Security benefits in particular. You cannot do a Collection Due Process hearing request in the same manner as other CDP requests.Don't have time to go into details, but trying to stop the 15% levy is a complete farce and something that Nina Olson should be looking at closely. The parameters of the program are a complete joke. It often takes several months to stop a levy.
