| Just read that for '07, a tax-free transfer from an IRA to an HSA is allowed - is anyone either well versed on this new ruling or know where I could find more information? Since I have both types of accounts, I'm curious what, if any, options I may have available. Thanks! | |

| I was just going to say, it is not a ruling, it is law! Thanks Solomon, I think this was mentioned several weeks ago just after the New Year turned. | |

| It was mentioned in Tax Hotline - thanks Kevin for the article - after reading, it makes no sense for me to take advantage of it - think I'm not alone in my decision either! | |

| If you have a new HSA....and you know you have large medical expenses coming up soon...and you need to jump start your funding into your HSA account....then it MIGHT make sense.....somewhat......if that is the ONLY way you could fund it... | |

| Kiplinger's Tax Letter is also saying generally no sense to take it. | |

| Reverse question: You can NOT rollover from an HSA to an IRA ? | |

| Beware - California does not currently conform to the Federal rules on HSA's. So there can not be a "tax free" transfer to HSA's for state purposes in CA. | |
