| Hi Folks,
I wiil be brief as I am exhausted. I am home. It's been a whirlwind. I will post more when I am not so tired. The preliminary diagnosis shows markers for two illnesses but the doctor is aggressively going to treat it as MS. He says I have many lesions on my brain that it's very difficult to tell right now which markers are prevalent for the illnesses involved. So he thinks that I will most likely relapse in the future meaning MS is the most likely outcome. But I will fight this thing tooth and nail. The fact they found I had a brain is news itself to me to begin with anyway. I appreciate Natalie's help. I called her out of the blue. I honestly had no clue how sick I was. I pretty much came close to collapse Monday and went to the ER. I just got home now. Thanks for the well wishes and I will fill you in later when I am not so tired. I appreciate all your friendship and I will keep you posted. You aren't getting rid of me that easily. Tom

| Tom, thanks for the update...even tho I wish it were better news. I know people who have lived long productive lives after the MS diagnosis. I'm sure your positive, give'm h*ll attitude will play big part. Offers to help are out there, as well as tons of moral support, just let us know what else we can do. Physical distance complicates things a bit.......but there's always a way. | |

| Back a day early! Super! I'm glad I was by the phone when you called. Belle is correct -- attitude plays a big role in how this will all play out. The brain is very powerful, and you have a lot of people who support you. Take advantage of their offers to help.

| Tom, great to see you are back and moving toward being on the mend. It's always good when the medical profession can confirm the presence of some of our more critical organs, even if they have to be repaired. Take care of yourself. And Fred - I think it's time to honor your comittment. | |

| Natalie, do we (you & me, maybe Pierce) need to find 'hooters outfits' and plan a trip to visit Tom !?!?!
It'd be good for laughs, if nothing else <g>

| Belle,
If you, Natalie, Pierce and anyone else do that, I would probably die from laughter and not this!!!! Thanks for all the kind words. If you look at my bio page you can see something where you send me a note. Tom

| There you go Belle! What a great idea! I've never been to the east coast. Action should come, too. I just thought of something else . . . I'll bet we could get Fred to go, too. He's right there. Tom thinks he has a funny hair cut anyway. We'll just dress him up a bit more and add a wig!! | |

| Heck, if yuo girls are dressing up in Hooters Outfits, I am sooooo in. I'll even fake being sick if I have to.
and as I told Tom, I have his address, I have the Hooters phone number and I was going to call, but unlike the rest of you folks, I have a deep undying respect for the boundaries of marriage and without having permission from the one who would actually kill Tom <and probably me>, I was not about to send Tom into Cardiac arrest without Mrs. Tom's permission. so there, nannie nannie foo foo. glas you're feeling better Tom, as a doctor, I prescribe multiple massages from yuor wife to relax you in your time of need.

| I think(?!) my feeling are hurt that the thought of me in a Hooters outfit generates LAUGHTER ! ! ! | |

| You need to forgive tom, he has been ill and is apparently under the influence of drugs.
I have been envisioning you in the Hooters outfit ever since the presedential/governor's campaign began and I never once laughed. <EG>

| Nice Fred. I guess we needn't worry about any problems with YOUR campaign -- I think you can spin just about anything! "Deep, undying respect . . ." Puuhleez. You crack me up! | |

| What? Who Me?
Of course I have a deep respect. Do you have any idea how crazy married men can get if you get caught fooling around with their wives? Can be very messy indeed. lol. Specially around here where lots of people have guns. Deep deep respect I say.

| Tom, so glad you are back. You have a great attitude, and will be able to overcome this.
Can't find an owl costume for this hooters thing, so will have to pass.

| Oh Pierce, you of all people should be able to dig up something with all of those animals out there. | |

| Belle and ladies,
Don't be hurt. The laughter simply comes from the appreciation of the gift or the attempt. I laugh at so many crazy things. Life is too short as I found out. I am trying to have a great attitude. It's hard some moments, but I have great loving wife, beautiful daughter, wonderful parents and sisters and great friends who are helping me. One or two clients have been pinheads, but the majority want their accountant to get better. If I could not cut it, I would be the first to admit it, but that's not the case. The only real issues I have right now are I sometimes stumble when I walk and trouble talking and I am never at a loss for words (ask Natalie!). Believe it or not, this is therapeutic. I don't mean to hijack the chat with a personal issue, but we are human. We might be tax pros and accountants, but we are real people. That's why I chose to to call Natalie and have her tell you. It was my choice. I don't believe in hiding. Some family members told me not to tell clients. But many of my clients come from my church and other social circles. It would have gotten out. Besides for the next 4 weeks, I have to walk with a cane. so I chose to take a pre-emptive strike and beat the rumour mill in my community. The more honest you are the better I always say. Hiding behind things creates rumours and problems. As a result, my true friends have shown themselves and have rallied support. I am blessed. Thanks for the kind wishes everyone. Until I really can generate some more strength, you will see my name every couple of days when the mood strikes. Fred, my wife would have gotten a kick out of it. She is a good sport and would have thought it was funny. Now, if you can't believe it it, a family member is bugging me with a tax question and my voice is shot. I can't believe they don't get the hint. Tom

| FRED get on that horn and corral those girls!!!
See, there's actually a medical theory behind this. You may have heard that pets, especially dogs, are used in hospitals to help children get well. Same thing goes for men, only they respond better to the "owl" variety.

Believe it or not, this is therapeutic. I don't mean to hijack the chat with a personal issue, but we are human Hijack all you want; we are 100% behind you and have your back. And IMHO, that's what this chat forum is about. Least we can do under the circumstances. You should have seen the attempted hijack of your 'hey everyone' thread by some spammer. He was quickly sent on his way.....post deleted by Tim at the request of those of us who were offended. Your attitude is an inspiration to us all; and I agree with the 100% honesty approach. Those that don't understand don't DESERVE to be in your life! Keep us posted when you're up to it.
