| I was not able to use TA for the past 3 months or so. I have just noticed google ads.
When did TA first start using them? -- Larry Hess, CPA | Albuquerque, NM | Talk to me

| I'm not sure when they started hosting Google ads, I never really noticed them until recently when the classmates.com banner appeared top center. If I inadvertently put my mouse pointer in the wrong place when the page loads and the pointer ends up on top of the ad, it goes into action with a drop-down banner that completely obscures the most recent posts to the message board. The only way to get the ad to go away is to reload the page and make sure my mouse pointer is nowhere near the ad.
Is it just me or is this A TOTAL WASTE OF EVERYONES TIME? I don't have a problem with Google ads at all, at least not the text-based ads that blend in. But these graphical ads that flash and jump and prevent me from doing what I came to the site to do are just DISRESPECTFUL. And when they block content, it's just over the top.

| There's a whole discussion on this issue. I think JR was the first one to bring it up. The fast, easy solution is to get ad-blocking software. "Discussion:"Free" Days over now?" | |
