I am new to site. Here goes. New client informed me that she owns real estate property in South Korea. There is no mortgage on the property. It is worth about $200,000. Can we deduct as second residence and write off taxes. If she decides to place it on th rental market, can I deduct travel exp to check on property, depreciation, etc. if if fact she is unsuccessful in obtaining a tenant?
