I am wondering if anyone has answer to this question. I am a CPA from DE, want to apply CPA License in Florida. FL requirements says 150 hours including 36 hours in accounting to sit for the exam. I did not have 36 hours in accounting when sat for CPA exam in DE, however I do have 36 hours now. Does FL count the accounting hours earned after passing the CPA exam? or they will make you sit for the cpa exam all over again to be licensed in FL? Any help is appreciated.

Yes you can get the 36 hours anytime, before, after, or a combination.

The Florida State Board of Accountancy - has a website with qualifications. Now Floirda is far more difficult to get a license than it was say 20 years ago. One unintended drawback of the 150hour 36 core accounting law is the younger generation is not taking up the Profession. At the conferences all I see is grayhaired 50-somethings.

It's because the young bucks in the firms are doing CPE in-house or at retreat sites.

94 nole - that may be partially true - but the enrollment and passing % of the Exam are way off.
