| EasyAcct just sent me the renewal notice for next years product. The price went up 22 1/2%!!!!!!!!!!
EasyAcct works OK, the built in depreciation program is cumbersome and does not work well with integration into ProSeries. It does include a seperate program titled "Info Return System" which is stand alone program to prepare 1099's and W-2's. I would not consider EasyAcct a professional CPA firm write up software. Intuit does not spend any time updating the program to function better, I think they would like to phase it out. Now that QuickBooks can handle multiple payroll's for the "Accountant" and prepare 4up W-2's I am thinking of switching all recordkeeping services, including after the fact payroll to QuickBooks. I would have switched long ago to another program, bus the hassle of setting up all of the clients on new software is a daunting, time consuming task. It is tempting to say the hades with these lower end programs and jump into UltraTax or Lacerte, but I tend to be the typ to refuse to jump on the band wagon without considering the cost impact to clients. I am positive I could pass along the cost and not lose any clients. The reality is I don't have to, I can exist just fine with what I have and keep clients cost down at least a little bit. ProSeries depreciation program Fixed Asset Manger is horrible, and Intuit does not update the program.
Well TDoyle I am whining directly to you. I do believe I will go with the more expensive program and pass along the cost, but it will be UltraTax and Creative Solutions. I hope others out there feel the same way. The only way we can fight back is to not buy it. Ski ya, Tony TDoyle I think you are an intuit rep, what do you think?

| Yeah.... Intuit has really taken advantage of their position. I used QB's for DOS version 1 in 1991 and have been an original QB user since. I am a pro advisor etc.... They literally new me by name way back when. The program and support have grown to a monopoly.
Sad but true. They do a below average job on state tax allocations in their Pro Series program. Just my view,

| Yes QuickBooks marketing program was brilliant! I do believe I will stay with QuickBooks, becasue it is the way of the world. A definate requirement. I am a pro advisor as well. Do you use QB's for all of your write up work? Now that they do custom financials, accountant's letters, and the so time saving 4UP w-2's, I am going to make the switch. I do not want to do it now, so it looks like I will have to pay EasyAcct just so I can do recordkeeping thru 6/30/2008, after which I can get some free time to transfer all clients to QB. I am mad enought to make the switch to ULtraTax though.
Ski ya! Tony PS love the name.

| Tony2000,
Did you move to QuickBooks? How was your experience?

| Don't you have to pay now to be a ProAdvisor, but they kick in the program at a discount?
If I remember correctly, back in like '97, I was listed on their website as an advisor, I won't say what kind, at no cost (or very little cost)! They sent me some free books and everything. In fact, it was like they were trying to encourage tax people to sign on. I am not a ProAdvisor now.

| IMO, the PA program is worth it just for the software and client discounts. I only got two leads from the website. | |
