| I have never used e-file. My customers are asking me to look into it. Can I sign up for e-file now? do I have to renew it every year? | |

| You need to contact the IRS to ask for a permission.
Go to the IRS web site, click on e filing, and they will advise you about that Take some time to get approval. Probably this year is too late for you

| you do not need to renew every year. It is the best thing to have. Saves you time and paper and for your clients faster refunds. | |

| You have to call IRS up and request for fingerprint cards if you are not a CPA or Enrolled Agent, then send it in with the efile application form, which can be found in IRS website.
You are too late for this tax filing year, but can do for next year.
