| Do any of you Georgia CPA's (those from surrounding states may also know the answer) know whether Georgia has adopted any rules requiring registration of out of state CPA's in the state of GA in order to prepare state tax returns for GA residents? I am doing the return from outside the state so there is no nexus, but some states recently have decided to make a quick buck by requiring registration of CPA's from other states in order to prepare returns for residents of those states. I've been wandering around the GA ST Board of Accountancy website and don't find a quick answer to my question. I think my answer is no, but I don't want to find out later that I missed something.
(According to a class I attended today, Illinois was finding CPA's from other states who had prepared IL resident returns, issuing a temporary license after the fact, then revoking the license, sending the revocation on the the CPA's own state. This could result in suspension or revocation of the license in the CPA's home state. Not a good situation.) | |
