I learned some new information today - or at least new to me. And thought I would pass it on to anyone who might want to know. I was worried about the direct deposit info. for my clients who choose to do a RAL. I spoke with the bank today that I go thru, and they let me know that they somehow issued something with the IRS and any deposit that relates to their bank's routing # will be rejected and convert to a paper check for the stimulus payment. Thought that was good news. I would assume all banks that handle RALS would do the same. But as I am typing this I am thinking that there were some people who actually have a checking account with this bank and used it for direct deposit, guess their's would be rejected as well? Oh well, it all cant be perfect!!!

My understanding was that those returns I e-filed with direct deposit their s-payments would also be direct deposited.

From I've read if TP got a RAL, then no direct deposit for stimulus rebate; check only.

Let's say client has refund applied to next year. If direct deposit information is on return, stimulus payment will be direct deposited, correct?

Disregard my prior post. The answer is yes.

Ain't that the truth. I did a client's taxes, and she had referred a bunch of co-workers. All are simple returns with a single W2 and possible a rent credit, but they are also all single moms with EIC, Child Credit, sometimes Child Care Credit, MN WFC, etc. We charge a third of what they paid at H&R, but they would rather pay 3 times as much so they can get the RAL money. With direct deposit and filing in February, what are we talking here, a week's difference???? We even agree to hold their checks until they get the refund. Some people you just can't help, no matter how hard you try.
