| I was wondering what the rest of you require before accepting from your client that his vehicle is over 6000 lbs? When I have a client come in and has purchased a new vehicle for the business, (mostly farmers)I ask what the unloaded gross vehicle weight is, they will ask me why and when I tell them its treated different if its over 6000 lbs, well, you can guess the answer I get. So, what do you do in this situation? Is it the gvwr weight that is posted on the inside of the door or is it another number?

| when the client is present, i just google the vehicle on the website and print out the sheet that shows me the gross weight. that is what the auditor would accept.

| one client several years ago, had just bought one of those small-type nissan p/u. It had 4-wheel drive and extended cab, but I didn't believe that it could be over 6,000. He thought it was. We checked the label inside of the door. It read 6,001 GVW.

| but is that the unloaded weight per instuctions or the loaded weight? My farmers could easily justify 6000 lb loaded weight w/ a load of hay, ensilage, etc
