Watson now lays on the floor by my chair. He is a 3-4 year old mix of an Old English Sheepdog and a Otter Hound. We found him at Petfinders.com and drove to the Last Chance Ranch near Quakertown PA to adopt him on the 28th of July. He is another Philadelphian, being from West Philadelphia and being surrendered to the lovely people at the ranch by either the Philadelphia police, or the owners of the crack house they raided. There were three dogs there.

Watson seems very quiet and subdued compared to the young Farfel, but he craves attention. He does not fight with dogs or even seem interested in them; he stares at cats and a rabbit he saw last night. I will try to post a photo on my page, but if this is still active, you can try this link:

how cute. I have never heard of an otterhound.

Isn't the quote "Come here Watson, I need you!"?

So happy you found a dog. He's beautiful, and looks like he will be a great companion.

That dog looks like a Quaker, and probably won't be much for fighting, but he might be good at bringin home supper for you. Let something run straight at him, and he won't do much, but let something run across his field of vision, and you should have a rabbit supper. You might need one at the rate prices are going up. If all else fails, he can be put to making furniture, with the right tools.
