Hi - I'm rather new to the forum. I am a real estate investor as well as an agent. I have a c corporation that i'm converting to an s corporation effective 1 jan 08. I also have some LLCs in different states that own real estate. My question is can my corporation own all the LLCs even though its not qualified to do business in all the states? Or do I have to qualify the corporation to do business in all the states where the LLCs are located. Thanks for your inputs.

Different laws may apply to different states. I recommend you get a professional to handle this ASAP. If you have several LLC's and your the sole owner it may make since to keep it that way in case you ever want to add a partner to one or more LLc's but not all. If you incorporate this will be more complex and create bigger fees for yourself.
