| Hello everyone,
I'm sitting for BEC on Monday and am having a hell of a time with remembering volume variances, price variances and such. I have a big gigantic chart memorized and then when a question pops up I don't know where to stick in the numbers. I've passed all 4 parts of the exam but not all in the same window so I had to take 3 sections all over again. So, does anyone on here that has taken the BEC test in the last few months have any sort of advice, and while I know that the CPA exam prohibits disclosure of what's on the test, can anyone tell me what's NOT on it? :) haha, yeah right! Seriously, thanks for any help with a possible flash card that can help, I'm almost ready!

| Go to Borders and get a Exam Cram and answer all the questions to see how you would do on the exam. =) | |

| I have no advice as I haven't taken any of the exam yet. Taking FAR on Nov. 16! Really sucks that you passed all four but outside of the window. Good luck to you though: you've done it before so hopefully you'll be alright again! As for me... well... crap! | |

| I took the exam so long ago, I don't even know what BEC is! Good luck to you...hope this is your time! | |

| It hasn't been that long but I've already forgotten what was on the BEC section. From what little I recall, the questions weren't too difficult...basic economics/finance type stuff. As long as you studied diligently you'll be fine. | |

| In the too little too late department I took the BEC last January and found it to be the easiest part of exam. But it is quick, just 2.5 hours, so it can be a challenge if you are not a numbers person. No simulations though, at least not yet. Auditing for me was the nightmarish part. Good luck. | |

| As GeoEA1065 says, I too found it to be the easiest section. As said previously, just find some book that has a lot of questions on it. Do really well on the first testlet. If the questions seem to get crazy hard on the second one, that means you did really well on the first. I remember answering the questions on the first testlet and thinking, "this stuff is easy." Then came the next section and they were a LOT harder. Not impossible though.
Answer those questions and get a TON of sleep.

| I took it and it was pretty math intensive, I had all the formulas memorized but had a brain fart and couldn't remember which numbers to plug in, I froze because I got there in Utah at 11am for my noon appointment and it was already noon, an hour ahead so that played into my poor performance, but the good news is that I know exactly what to study for next time. | |

Hi Donnie - found this although you probably have it. Maybe it will help. With that cost accounting stuff, it's a heck of a lot easier to get an understanding of the concepts (like, what is price variance? why is it important? what info do you need to figure it out?, etc), so you can figure out the equations rather than memorizing the equations. Just my humble opinion. Also, I haven't memorized anything since sticky notes were invented :) It's much easier to pass second time around. Remember, you only have to PASS and you don't need an A+. When I took the exam BEC was Tax, Cost, and Gov't. I failed it on the first go-round and passed easily on the second try.

| Yeah that's the sad part of this whole ordeal, I passed BEC, Law and Audit the very first time I took the CPA exam and couldn't pass Financial, by the time I passed financial I lost credit for the other three parts and now I'm down to audit and BEC, I have a feeling knowing the way my life has always worked that I won't pass the BEC part until I've lost credit for Financial, but try try I will! | |

| I'm taking financial first (and over and over again until I pass!) so that my 18 months doesn't start until I pass it!! | |
