I have a C-Corp client. The stock of that C-Corp is being purchased by another C-Corp mid-year. Do I file a short year 1120 for my client? Does the purchasing C-Corp consolidate my client's entire fiscal year into their 1120?

A short-year return is required if the purchased corporation is joining the consolidated group of the parent.
