I have a client that sold a Quiznos to another individual. This lovely man (the new owner) quit paying the rent (sublease). Unfortunately my client had to pay $11000 in back rent and $1500 in attorney fees due to this issue. The S-Corp has since closed - but how would I take this expense since it truly was related to the business he owned?

no, the discussion last year was another client that had an "abandonment loss" with Quiznos. This client acutally operated the Quiznos for 4+ years and then sold it to an individual. The individual formed an LLC for the Quiznos and signed a lease although it was a sublease. Different situation totally!
