| So in addition to developing a new career in the "off season" (don't you just get tired of people thinking that you have been lazing around the beach since April 15?) as the most able bodied Gofer in town, I found a great space and will be moving my office next month. It's just across the hall from my existing space and is about 2.5 times bigger. There's an office at the back with it's own entrance that I will be sub letting, so I will have more space than I have ever had for just a little more rent. We started building the walls last night for the file room - a whole room devoted only to files so I don't need to rent a creepy storage locker! Soon as the walls are done, I get to paint, then lay carpet. With these new skills I will be SO employable!! Oh, wait - I am self employed. BTW, since summer I have learned to dig trenches (I'm the best around and I'm free, just don't give me any crap about how straight it is), I've learned how to dress plumbing pipes (they look so cute in their littlt blue and red dresses), I can run one of those paint sprayer things and look almost as green as the thing I'm painting. Now after last night, I can even make a good showing building walls. Can I get some CPE's here? | |

| You might be able to get CPE, but it wouldn't be in the area you'd like.
Have you thought about going a little more paperless? I can't imagine having a whole bunch of filing cabinets full of paper in my office. All of my business clients except one provides me with their tax information electronically. And this year for the first time I'm going to charge an extra fee for that client if he provides his stuff on paper. (It's a computer sales/service company. They should have been one of the first to provide stuff electronically.) | |

| I've thought about it Natalie and rejected it. I don't use file cabinets, I've always preferred shelves, not that it means less paper. I still don't trust the computer enough to replace good old hard copy. However, I have decided that I'm not keeping this stuff forever like I did in California. Next year I'll be in business here more than five years and having satisfied the requirement to keep my e-file stuff for that long, I'll begin shredding things. At least I think I will. | |

| Since you do business in Hawaii, you might want to consider keeping your stuff for seven years. My understanding is that's when the statute expires for lawsuits. | |
