I don't usually do audits in my practice, but took on an HOA at my aunt's request. As these things do, it has gotten sticky and complicated (no good deed goes unpunished!). I was able to get a template of audit workpapers from auditnet.org, but now I'm trying to write the report and the notes and I need some guidance on the paragraphs to include and the standard wording on those paragraphs. I don't mind paying a little for a subscription or access to somewhere to get this info, but this was a favor, so I don't want to have to get a several hundred or thousand $ subscription for something I will only use once or twice. Please help!!

After reviewing other threads on other topics, I went to PPC and got the Audit Reports books. This is great and I get some A&A CPE as well. Still, please comment if you have other resources.

The PPC HOA books will give you the unique disclosures for HOA's. And the tax reporting concepts.

You're doing one audit? The peer review is where the cost will be.

There may be a separate audit guide for Homeowners Associations. I would definitely pick that up if I were you.

Okay, I guess I suckered into this one. I did a search for Homeowners Association Audit Guide, and came up with a TA discussion. Discussion:Audit guide/workpapers for Condo HOA
