Hi,

If a customer has open credits(overpaid),how would I apply an invoice against the credits in Quickbooks? We use undeposited funds as a holding account in the Received Payment screen until we make deposit at which point it reverses out that account. Since there is no exchange of money, I can't show an increase in cash.

Go to Receive Payments. Don't know what version of QB you're using so can't tell you the exact wording and where exactly on the screen it is but there is an apply credits or apply credits and discounts button. It's usually below where all the open invoices are shown. I also use the Collections Report to check these. Set your date range to show Next Fiscal Year and all your invoices, payments and credits will show up. You can then apply your payments.
