No, the mole has always been there and I have always parted my hair that way. I had my name changed by the great and awesome Trillium.

I passed Part II yesterday and now will soon be an EA...once I mail my Form 65 (that's a joke, I know it is form 23). All in all the test was fair...much was a repeat from the study materials. Much were short, simple questions with answers that took a lot of thought. Some questions were so poorly written that they left me shaking my head.

Thanks for all the support folks, I really appreciate it.

Now I officially don't know squat! :D

God, I wish we was back in Aztec times, I'd order a sacrifice in celebration!

Well, it was a long road, and it turned out that you flew through it with flying colors. Now is the time to celebrate before the weight of the office starts coming down on your shoulders.

You got a lot of bad advice, but fortunately I was here and it all turned out ok.

If only there were virgins left, Crow! If we sacrificed anything other than, we might upset the volcano!:D

Seriously Michael, any time you can go back later in life and do something like this, I think it's great. Same with NMex getting his LLM.

I set a goal for myself of learning to read Spanish back in 2003 (actually learning to speak Spanish I thought would be much tougher, of course, you speak in your mind when you read). Went out and bought 3 books, 2 dictionaries, and a compact disk set. They are still collecting dust around here somewhere. I even have a couple of friends that are native speakers, and I've still been lazy.

I have decided now that I will probably have to take the night classes if I want to get serious about it.

(On the humerous side, I've also set myself the goal (several times) of mastering Excel. Got the books, etc. etc. Somehow, I always end up sound asleep before anything gets accomplished.) That's one subject I'll probably never take a night class in.

Thanks CrowJD, it gets harder these days--especially since I have been holed up in my office since tax season studying. I missed a lot of time with the kids when they are small (which isn't for very long) so they are making a Christmas like list of things I can do to make it up to them.  :D

You could go into drywall and get a crash course in Spanish.

I took French, which is where I met my wife in high school French class (Saturday was 17 years of marriage and Jan 9th will be 25 years together total). I told my wife that I should have taken Spanish and I might be married to Salma Hayek! Good thing that they don't take pictures for the EA card because my eye would be black! :D

Thanks again all, I appreciate it.

I took French in highschool as well. I don't regret it, but I have rarely used it.

Absolutely right about the drywall. lol. What a lot people don't know about the Mexicans is they are natural builders. They just don't have the money to do anything about it down there. A lot of them are particularly good masons too, so if you ever need any masonary work done, check them out.

Another funny story about drywall. Almost all the young felons I've ever met, the caucasian ones, if you ask them what their trade is, it is almost always drywall. Or was. I don't know if they learn to say this in prison or not. I haven't represented too many in the recent past, but I would suppose the Mexicans have taken all their jobs (if they actually ever had a job).

Congrats Michael! You should get a frame for the 8-1/2 x 11 certificate and hang in your office.

I am going to get one of those cheesy imitation gold frames with one of those oversized gold plastic chains and wear that 8 1/2 x 11 certificate around my neck like bling! :D

don't forget to get the gold tooth with 'EA' cut out so you can still see the white of your tooth where the initials go. Very effective conversation starter. You can expense it as advertising, I believe.

Way to go Michael!!! Sorry I am late to the party but hopefully you are still pumped that you got through all this!

I believe you owe me a dollar: you can send it to me via Paypal to seepetewasright@newea.com

Congratulations!

I'll get right on that PeteEA! :D

The fun of it all is just starting. I will not technically be an EA until April 1 of next year but I hope to attend the NAEA's representation CPE so that I can get into that heavily.

April 1?

How come?

BrockEA (talk|edits) said:

My SSN ends in 0 so my normal re-enrollment is Nov 1 to Jan 31 with an effective date of April 1, 2010. Even though I am a first time EA candidate, I will follow.

I COULD try to get enrollment before the Nov 1 enrollment cycle starts but I will not need it for the remainder of the year but then I would have to pay $125 now and $125 to re-enroll (plus the cost of CPE for this year). I don't need it this year so I will just wait...I would prefer to have Jan. 1 effective date so that I could use it to pull transcripts easier during next year's tax season.

That's how and why.
