| I started getting e-mails from this website. They had some interesting items and one of them pertained to some kind of payroll preparation software. It sounded interesting so I clicked on it to read more about it, decided it didn't really fit in with the type of work that I do, so I closed it and went about my merry way. By the time I got into the office a couple hours later, there was a call from someone, asking for me by name and saying he was following up on my download of this software. I didn't leave a name, number or download the software. It was a little unnerving, so I haven't opened another e-mail from them since, nor did I return the call. I'm just curious if anyone else receives communications from them? | |

| They are actually a pretty good source of accounting information. Did you sign up with them at some point? I'm not sure how they would be able to tie your computer IP address with your name unless you had done so. | |

| Sign up is free, but you need to give them that information. If you have cookies set to your computer, then you might still have been signed in.
Accountantsworld used to own TaxRelief by Microvision. Now that was good and inexpensive tax software. They decided to leave the software business to focus on website and portals and other accounting services. They are an excellent resource for accountants and have a lot of free downloads on their site. They have sample engagement letters downloadable in word format and a host of other things. Should definitely be bookmarked and visited regularly if you don't already do this. I get their daily news email and check it out when an interesting article. | |

| All of what's been said is what I was thinking, that's why I opened the e-mail in the first place. I don't recall signing up though, how would that have been done? It was just unnerving to come into my office with a phone message calling me by name commenting on a program I had not downloaded, only read about. I'll give them another shot though because Fred's right, there seems to be good information there. | |
