| I have a client that pays over $100K/year for an annual permit to conduct business within a particular city. The permit is issued by the state. Obviously i don't want to amortize this as 197 and would like to deduct it based on the fact that it is paid each year and is finite in nature. Any thoughts would be appreciated. | |

| Wow! That's a huge amount of money. I hope he makes enough to justify the cost. I'd expense it as "Licenses and Permits" since it is an annual permit. | |
