I filed an amended return to claim for a refund for taxes paid. The amended return was filed on time (i.e. within 2 years after the taxes were paid). I have not received a reply or any information concerning the amended return. Is there a time limitation where the IRS has to reply? Does the amended return become the official return after some time? | |

| Fill in your profile for additional information. When did you file the amended return? | |

| Was this an original return to replace a Substitute for Return filed by the IRS? | |

| here is a great example of all of the professionals trying to help a DIYer who doesn't fill out his profile and doesn't come back to clarify his question. | |

| I'm sorry if I gave the impression that I was not answering the discussions. I had problems with my internet connection and just had it solved. I did call up the IRS and they did find the return. Again my apologies for seeming to be uninterested in the forum. Thanks to all | |

| May not be his internet connection, this site is very slow to navigate around in. I'm used to it, still don't understand why it is so slow. | |
