| Amending 2005 return for TP that was filed without including 1099 income. I am going to attach Sch D to the 1040X, and also think I should attach Sch B, even though it's not over the required amount, just to show the detail breakdown and help the IRS match up the income. Also, if I do that, shouldn't I attach those schedules to the state amended return?Feedback? | |

| upon further review, it appears that I do need to attach a copy of 1040X and schedules to the 540X. Wish the TP had just come to me in the first place. Could have saved him some $$$$ | |

| With a 1040X I attach a complete copy of the 1040 as originally filed (and so marked on each page) and a complete copy of the 1040 as amended (and so marked on each page). Then, with the 540X (California, correct?) attach a complete copy of the 540 as originally filed (and so marked on each page) and a complete copy of the 540 as amended (and so marked on each page), together with a complete copy of the 1040X and marked copies of the 1040 as originally filed and amended. It is a lot of paper, but I never get any problems with the IRS or FTB with questions or correspondence. | |
